About Guardian Angel's for Soldiers Pet (GASP)
An all volunteer 501 (c) (3) nonprofit Federal Tax Exempt public charity supporting our military service members, veterans, and their beloved pets through our "Foster Home" program aimed at reuniting pet(s) and owner following deployment or an emergency hardship.
- Operates and utilizes volunteers for this endeavor
- Non-political, non-partisan, and does not support nor endorse any political candidates
- Works with local communities, appropriate government representatives, and military representatives to accomplish our mission and goals
- Recruits and interviews potential individual foster homes
- Works with the military pet owner to find a caring, loving, and safe environment for his/her pet(s)
- Maintain contact with individual foster home caregivers fostering pets through our organization to ensure the pet(s) remain in a caring, loving, and safe environment
- Remains in contact with information about the pet (i.e., via letter, emails, and pictures) to the military person while he/she is deployed
Our Mission
Supporting our military service members, veterans, and their beloved pets to ensure the pets are reunited with their owners following deployment or emergency hardship.
Our ObjectivesObjective 1: Establish a network of foster families providing a loving and healthy home environment for the pet(s) until they can be reunited with their owner throughout the United States.
Objective 2: Recruit and appoint "State Volunteer Directors" in states outside of Arkansas to promote the organization, recruit/interview potential foster homes, and volunteers to promote the organization, our "Foster Home" program/service, and recruit volunteers in their state
Objective 3: Establish and maintain the first Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pet "Military, Veterans, and Pet" (MVP) Sanctuary in Arkansas to ensure there is a caring, loving, and safe home-like environment for these pets when individual foster home caregivers are not available.
Objective 4: Establish a network with various military locations, Family Readiness Groups (FRGs), military based veterinarians, volunteer pet transport groups, other military support organizations, and animal care facilities (humane societies, animal shelters, and rescue groups)
Objective 5: Establish a network of news media contacts to keep the public informed about our organization and our progress in accomplishing our mission.
Objective 6: Establish communication with the appropriate government agencies to ensure compliance with all regulations (federal, state, and local).
Objective 7: Provide financial assistance for the caring of the pet in regards to food and required medical care as needed, while the pet is in the care of the Guardian Angels For Soldier's Pet approved foster home caregiver where funds are available.
